StepIn3D is our Digital Twin and immersive virtual tour platform in the making. The software is being designed around classic 360° imagery, newer 3D experiences, and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), with the flexibility to use these approaches independently or together.
The vision is to give creators a choice in how they represent real places. A traditional 360° tour can remain a complete experience on its own, while 3D and 3DGS offer other ways to bring spatial context into a Digital Twin. The public website introduces this direction while the platform is in development.
THE PLANNED EXPERIENCE
3D spatial experiences
The 3D direction focuses on shape, depth, and a sense of space, with the aim of supporting standalone experiences as well as presentations that bring different technologies together.
3D Gaussian Splatting
3DGS is part of the platform’s development vision for representing real spaces. The goal is to make room for this newer approach alongside classic 360° imagery and 3D.
